Through Spectral Paradigms

from Terminus by The Noumenon

lyrics

“Here in this solitary state
My questions beget nothing.”

A lonely enterprise of loathing:
Destroying an empty world,
Would bear a spiral of distractions
that would yield no resolutions.

She has wandered for years
Just leading insects to a path without structure.

“Listen to me.
You’ve found no paradise and still you try.
You’re lost and torn by confusion.
Release the past and move on.
Ask new questions.”

“Here in this motionless environment
I should rest.
I’ve walked the path unseen
To find the in-between.
And still this river flows,
Painting my reflection in the sky.”

She remained by the river’s edge
And stared so long she’d sear her eyes.
Falling from the physical realm -
Her reflection took form in the shape of thought itself.

“And still this river flows.
Painting a perception in my mind.”

Twisting dreams in the light of day,
Her reality slowly fades.

Images of all that she slaughtered,
flowing out from within,
to form the face of the beast.

“There was never any point in this.
We have always been Nothing
...Reborn into Nothing.”
